Information, services, assistance, training and support for caregivers of frail, older adults

Are you caring for an older person who needs help you can't provide? Do you need advice, education or someone to talk to? If so, you are one of the County's rapidly growing number of caregivers - people who are providing care and support to a frail, older friend or family member.
The Caregiver Support Program can help you with this responsibility in several different areas:
Providing information on available services and programs that can help with your needs and those of your loved one:
- Assisting you in connecting with resources and other service providers
- Providing advice, guidance and instructions about options and methods for dealing with your caregiving responsibilities
- Paying for some respite care services - temporary or substitute living arrangements to provide short periods of relief or rest for caregivers
- Paying for some equipment and devices to make your caregiving responsibilities easier to cope with, including: specialized medical equipment and supplies, assistive technology, incontinence supplies, automated medication reminders, and modifications to the home such as grab bars, ramps, widening of doorways and wander-protection equipment
Caregivers may be any age although you must be experiencing a significant amount of stress related to your caregiving responsibilities. The individuals you are caring for must be 60 years of age and experiencing problems with two activities of daily living (such as dressing, eating, walking, bathing, toileting or transferring.)
