Description: Senior Centers throughout Salt Lake County are sites for active older adults to gather for lunches and activities to nourish the mind, body and spirit. These activities include classes from art to computers to tai chi, discussion groups, dancing, trips and bonding around the pool table, jigsaw puzzle or craft bench. Most Centers offer transportation to local participants as well as on-site legal consultations and health-related services such as flu shots and osteoporosis screening.
Volunteer Opportunities: Senior Centers always need "people people" to greet and orient new participants, to provide clerical and reception support services and to reach out into the community to increase awareness and participation.
We also need you if you have skills you would be willing to share by teaching a one-time or an ongoing class.
All volunteers work in close partnership with the staff at each Center for training and support and are valued as vital to the success of the Senior Center Program. No minimum hours are required, but reliability is a must!
